This Rock Island Business Car was converted from a 1950-built coach in 1953. The sides remained fluted and the observation platform was placed where the vestibule had been. The car was originally named "Lake Michigan." Somewhere between '65 and '67, the below the window fluting was replaced with flat stainless panels. Since the fluting included is an add-on product, the car may be modeled either way. The kit includes a piece for the end windows and door, plus a piece for the platform floor. The curve on the roof and the end railings are up to the modeler to find/fashion.
