These 12 ACF Smooth Side Full Length Baggage Dormitories were delivered to Union Pacific in August '49 for use on the "City of..." Streamliners. 3 of the cars were owned by C&NW, which converted two of the cars to full Baggage cars in '60 and then to work train service in '71. One C&NW car was sold to Northern Pacific to replace one that was wrecked in '62. 5 of the UP cars had steam boilers installed in '62 and were kept. 4 were sold to Amtrak in '73.
