These 14 ACF Smooth Side 14 Section Sleepers were delivered to Union Pacific in early '54 for use on the "City of Portland," "Challenger" and "City of Denver."  These were the "Alpine" series cars.  All were rebuilt to 44 Seat Coaches in '65 and numbered 5543 to 5556.  All were sold to Amtrak.
