These rebuilt PS Smooth Side Articulated 4 Compartment/4 Double Bedroom/1 Drawing Room and 12 Section Sleepers were delivered to Union Pacific in '37 and rebuilt in '53 for use on the "City of Denver" after serving their early careers on the "City of Los Angeles/City of San Francisco." They were delivered with full skirts, which were removed when they were rebuilt. The 12 Section halves were originally named "Seal Rocks" and "Fisherman's Wharf" and were later renamed "Bear Lake" and "Dream Lake." The 4/4/1 halves were originally named "Union Square" and "Golden Gate Park" and were renamed "Greely" and "Boulder." The cars were probably all scrapped. Articulated cars are harder to model than other cars since they are two short cars sharing a center truck. They require the purchase of two core kits (both have to be shortened) and require scratch-building some of the articulation parts.
