Atlantic Coast Line, Chicago & Eastern Illinois, Florida East Coast, Louisville & Nashville and Nashville, Chattanooga & St. Louis jointly ordered these 9 cars to upgrade the "Dixieland." There was no fluting on the skirts, and no center skirts. NdeM, Canadian National and Amtrak all ended up with some of the cars.
