These 6 Budd Fluted Side Bar/Lounge/Dormitory cars were delivered to Santa Fe in early '46 for use on "The Super Chief."  The cars were numbered only:  1390 to 1395.  In '55, 1390, 1392 and 1393 were redcorated in Texas motif for use in the Dallas section of "The Texas Chief."  1391 went to Amtrak in '71.  The rest were scrapped.  Note:  These cars had a coupled length of 79' 8".  The kits are prototypical, requiring the shortening of the core/base used.
