These were Budd built Baggage/Mail cars that had a 30' mail section. They were built for the "Sunset Limited" and were delivered to Southern Pacific in July of 1950. They had fluting below the window panel. They were stainless steel with a red stripe painted the length of the car above the windows, and were numbered 5005 to 5010. All were retired in 1968 and converted to work train service.
