These cars were Budd built with fluting below the window panels. They were delivered to Southern Pacific for use on the "Sunset Limited" in June of 1950. They were stainless steel with a red stripe above the windows running the length of the car. They were divided cars, one section with 16 seats and the other with 32 for travel through segragationist states, and had a news stand which sold magazines, newspapers, candy and cold drinks. They were numbered 2359 to 2363 and all 5 were sold to Amtrak in 1971.
